I have been an art lover throughout my life, and started expressing myself through painting in the late 1970s while living in Roanoke, Virginia.  Originally working in acrylics, collage, watercolors and mixed media, I attended many workshops and classes in and around Virginia and North Carolina to improve my techniques.  In 2000 I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and expanded my repertoire to include oils and pastels, where I continue to benefit from the expertise of other accomplished artists.  Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to learn from artists in a variety of media, including workshops and classes conducted by Charles Reid, Arne Westerman, and Polly Hammett (watercolors), Margaret Dyer, Susan Sarbuck, and Salley Strand (pastels and oils), Nancy Honea, Ben Smith, and Jonathan Simon (portraiture, drawing), and Deborah Nadelhoffer (oils & pastels).  My work has been accepted into several juried shows in the mid-Atlantic region and in 2009, an emerging artist show at the Anne Irwin fine art gallery in Atlanta.  My art also hangs in several private homes.
